Suggestions for Week of May 25-29
Reading - aim to read for 20-30 minutes each day. You can read books that you have at home, go on GetEpic, or Kids A-Z.
Writing - listen to some of the following stories on Youtube about letters:
Dear Mr. Blueberry
Toot and Puddle
The Day the Crayons Quit
Then write your own letter or email (you can always email me!) following the traditional format. See my example below:
May 25, 2020
Dear Class,
How are you? I miss you all so much. I wish that we were able to be at school together. Have you learned anything new or done anything interesting while you've been at home lately?
I started to teach myself some Spanish using an app called Duolingo. My kids have been using it to practice some French as well.
I am also trying to regrow celery from the end of a used stalk. It started out well but doesn't seem to be getting any bigger now.
I love to cook so I have been trying lots of new recipes. I made some delicious polenta fries and am excited to try a new blueberry dessert.
My mom lives at the beach so we went to visit her on the weekend. I hope that we get to spend lots of time at her house this summer when it's hot and sunny.
I hope that you are all doing well and that I hear from you soon.
Love,
Mrs. Carver
